WANTED: Musicians to play for FUN

We are looking for retired musicians in the Queens , Nassau area of New York who would like to join a group to play for fun (no pay). We like to jam, and if we get enough people, we have big band charts to fool around with. There are currently 8 of us who meet once a week. It sounds very good now, but would sound much better with more players . Brass, keyboard, and Bass.

In February this year we took 40 dancers, percussionists, musicians and singers, all of varying ability (one disabled) to Cuba on a unique challenge in aid of the Drake Music Project (www.drakemusicproject.com). They had just seven days to work with some of the best dancers and musicians in Cuba to put on a fully choreographed show in a theatre in Santiago de Cuba in front of a Cuban audience. The result was a mind-blowing, foot-stomping, amazing cross-cultural success. So, good that we are running it again in February/March 2002 with Drake again being the benefitting charity.

We are looking again for musicians, dancers, singers and percussionists and I wondered if you would be willing to help publicise the event. We have flyers, posters and lots of great pics for an article.

WANTED: Young female cellist

Australian based singer songwriter Emaline Delapaix is looking for a young and fun female cellist to accompany her and her all female band incorporating piano, accordion, guitar, percussion/drums and more for her European/Nth American Tour in July/August/September 2003 and for future tours including the following dates;

• 5th july rollo rock festival belgium
• 11th july mediteran festival slovenia
• 23rd august Women In Tune Festival UK
• 31st aug LAB festival stuttgart germany

You must:

• be young and fun as well as down to earth with a love for music and travel
• be a passionate/versatile advanced player who can play folk, pop, rock, jazz roots, blues, latin with good pizz ability to carry bass lines
• be able to play by ear and read sheet music which will be supplied with recordings
• supply bio/photo/recordings and be prepared to learn up 25 songs for the tour
• make a recording of 5 of Emaline's songs & send to us as part of audition process
• want to make a unique and creative contribution while enjoying yourself at same time
