Born in Warwickshire in 1979, Juliette Bausor began flute lessons at the age of five and, at ten, took up a place at the Junior Department of the Royal Academy of Music, studying with Anna Pope. In 1993 she attended the Purcell School of Music, where she was a scholar for four years. Juliette won a scholarship from the English Speaking Union in July 1998, which enabled her to study at the Banff Centre for the Arts, in Canada. In 1997 she commenced studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where her flute professors included Philippa Davies, Paul Edmund Davies and Samuel Coles. In her third year she spent three months at the Conservatoire Nationale Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, learning with Sophie Cherrier and Vincent Lucas. Juliette graduated with a first-class honours degree in July 2001.

In 2001 Juliette won the Gold Medal, Harrods Bank Prize and Worshipful Company of Dyers Award in the Royal Over-Seas League Competition. She won the Woodwind Final of the BBC Young Musician of the Year Competition in 1998 leading to her debut in the Waterfront Hall, Belfast with the Ulster Orchestra. In 1997 she won the Gold Medal in the Shell/LSO Competition, playing the Nielsen Flute Concerto with the London Symphony Orchestra in the Barbican Hall. 

Juliette has performed as guest principal flute in the Royal Scottish National Orchestra as well as having been principal flute in both the European Union Youth Orchestra and the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain.

Juliette regularly performs as a soloist in major venues and festivals throughout Britain and abroad. Recent engagements include recitals in both the Brighton and Buxton Festivals as well as concerto performances with the European Community Chamber Orchestra. Abroad, Juliette has given solo recitals in Budapest, Munich, Tokyo and Namibia and in September 1998 she gave an extensive tour of the United Arab Emirates before travelling to Thailand and Vietnam as a concerto soloist with the European Community Chamber Orchestra. In 2001 she was invited to perform in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, Australia by the Royal Over-Seas League.

Juliette frequently performs with Royal harpist Catrin Finch and recent performances together include recitals in both the Newbury Spring Festival and the Beaumaris Festival. The pair were invited to Thailand last December where they performed in the presence of HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana to critical acclaim.

Juliette is also a member of the Linos Wind Quintet who have recently returned from a very succesful tour of Australia, which included performances in Darwin, Cairns, Brisbane, Sydney, Newcastle and Melbourne, as well as a live ABC radio broadcast.

Juliette plays on a Brannen-Cooper flute that was awarded to her by the Foundation for Sports and the Arts.
