Born in 1972, Lorenzo Fuoco began studying violin in his hometown of Florence at the Conservatorio ”L.Cherubini” under the guidance of L. Gamberini where in 1994, he graduated with highest honors. That same year, Fuoco began a course under the guidance of C. Chiarappa at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana, Lugano where with honors, he earned a Master’s degree. In 1996, he took masterclasses with G. Franzetti.

Fuoco began his orchestral career in 1994 collaborating with both the Orchestra A.Toscanini and the Orchestra della Toscana. In 1995 he won the audition for the National Orchestra of the Italian Television in Turin (RAI) and in 1996, the Arena di Verona Orchestra.

In 1996 he became assistant principal of the second violins at the A.Toscanini Orchestra in Parma.

In 1998 Fuoco became part of the first violin section of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Orchestra, where he still is presently a member. He also is the concertmaster of the Solisti Fiorentini, a chamber orchestra founded by Riccardo Muti and made up of members of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino orchestra. Among the guests conductors, Zubin Mehta.

In January 2003, he made the semifinals at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra auditions for principal second violin and recently won the audition for Concertmaster at the Teatro Verdi of Trieste.

Fuoco has appeared as soloist with many orchestras in Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Austria. He founded the  Quartetto Perseo, a piano quartet which has received much international acclaim. The quartet is a frequent performer at the Festival in Rugland, Germany and the Auserferrea in Switzerland. Recently the quartet received special recognition from Zubin Mehta.
