Petter Richter Born 20.08.76 in Oslo, Norway.
Started his musical studies at the age of 7 with the cello. Started studying the guitar at the age of 14 first with various local teachers, and later with Erik Stenstadvold at the Norwegian State Academy of music in Oslo. He has also stuidied with Franz Halasz in Augsburg, Germany and with Pablo Marquez in Strasbourg, France. Petter Richter has participated in many masterclasses with the likes of David Starobin, the Assad brothers, Roland Dyens, Oscar Ghiglia, Leo Brouwer, John Williams, and Nigel North. He plays regularly chamber music with musicians like violinist Henning Kraggerud (best known for his two highly acclaimed recordings "Grieg-Violin Sonatas" and "Norwegian violin favorites" (on NAXOS) and singer Marita Kvarvik Sølberg (1st prize winner of Queen Sonja International singing competition).
He has won several prizes in international guitar competitions in many european countrys (Norway, France, Portugal, Spain), and has played concerts all over Europe and in Libanon.
He has also comissioned and performed works by a great number of composers including Dagfinn Rosnes, Maja Solveig Ratkje, Kristin Andersen, Rob Waring etc prizes
