Maurizio Norrito was born in Palermo in 1959. He finished his academic musical studies when he was just twenty, obtaining the Guitar Diploma with the maximum mark cum laude at the Vincenzo Bellini Conservatory in Palermo. A fondamental event in his musical formation was the meeting with Alberto Ponce, under whose guidance he obtained the Diplome Supérieur d‚exécution at the Ecole Normale de Musique Alfred Cortot in Paris. He has performed in solo and chamber concerts in Italy and abroad. He won a National Competition for Teaching at Conservatories, and since 1994 has been permanent teacher of Guitar at the Vincenzo Bellini Conservatory in Palermo. His last work is a cd titled "Guitar Tangos Works".
