Jazz Double Bassist, Sound Recordist, Author, Painter,Teacher and Lecturer.

Interest, Music, Astronomy and Cosmology, Painting and History, especially prehistory.
Studied Violin, then Bass and Piano at Trinity College of Music London, turned professional 1946. Whilst working as musician on RMS. Queen Mary, met and played with Lennie Tristano Group in New York Emigrated to New York April 1951, performed and recorded with many U.S. jazz musician's, including Lennie Tristano, Lee Konitz, Warne Marsh, Paul Bley, Buddy Rich, and many others.
First Double Bass player to give concerts and radio broadcasts as unaccompanied soloist.
Formed his own recording studio in the nineteen fifties in New York, released his album "Looking Out" in New York 1961 (now a collectors item). Performed on seventy recorded albums (LP or CD) as leader or participant.
Returned to England in 1966 and continued as a performer and teacher. Became active in releasing many jazz albums on Wave Records and also as recordist in Wave Studios in London. In 1984 he created the popular Bass Clef venue in London followed in 1991 with the Tenor Clef. These venues became known world wide for Jazz, Latin and African music.
In 1967 he CO-founded with Bernie Cash of the Jazz school of the Leeds Music College. Taught and lectured at the Jazz Centre Society's workshops, during the early 1970's. Now concentrating on performing and also releasing of his extensive achieve of recorded jazz - from the early 1950's to the present.
In 1964 Peter wrote "Cosmic Metabolism and Vortical Accretion" Published in Big Sur California. Ziegenhaus Publications.
