Cellist
Sol Gabetta-Timacheff
Sol was born in 1981 and she
has both French and Argentinian nationality. Since 1992 she
study with Professor Ivan Moniguetti in the "Musik Akademie
der Stadt Basel" in Switzerland.

Chamber Music
She has studied with Christine Waleska and Leo
Viola.
She performed Chamber Music with Ljerko Spiller, Piero Farulli and
today with Professor Gérard Wyss.
Soloist Career
Sol has played with the Buenos Aires
Philharmonic Orchestra (Colón Theatre - Argentina), "Banco
Mayo" Philharmonic Orchestra (Buenos Aires - Argentina), Basel
Symphonic (Basel - Switzerland), National Symphonic of France
(Champs-Elysées - Paris - France), Symphonic of Viña
del Mar (Chile), Symphonic of México (México) and
Bayerischer Rundfunk of München Germany Conducted by: Miguel
Hart Bedoya, Mario Benzecry, Pavel Sorokin, Enrique Bátiz,
Manfred Honeck, Carl St. Clair.
Awards 1991
- First Award in the International
Competition "Concurso Internacional de Niños y iovenes
Instrumentistas de Córdoba" (Argentina) and first award
"GiraudoMayorga".
- First Award in the Competition of "Banco
Mayo" (Buenos Aires - Argentina)
- She won the Spanish Iberdrola scholarship
to study in the "Escuela Superior de Musica Reina Sofia" (Madrid -
Spain).
Awards 1994
- First award for the second time in the
International Competition "Concurso Internacional de Niños
y Jovenes Instrumentistas de Córdoba" (Argentina).
- Awarded by the Rotary Club to be the
outstanding young person of the year in Argentina.
- Sol won the Rapp scholarship to perform
Cello studies in the Musik Academie der Stadt Basel (Basel -
Switzerland) during 1994-1998.

- First award in the Competition of the Swiss
Romande Radio.
- First award and laureated in the Music
Competition in Laussane (Switzerland).
- First award and laureated in the T.I.M.
(Torneo Internationale di Musica) in Rome (Italy), and Grand
T.I.M.

- Second award in the International
Competition Dr. Luis Sigall (Viña del Mar Chile).
- Awarded as the best musical interpretation
for the imposed work in the International Competition Dr. Luis
Sigall (Viña del Mar - Chile)

- Fifth award in the "VI Rostropovitch
International Competition" (Paris - France)
Awards 1998
- Award Natalia Gutman to the best musical
interpretation and artistic quality in the International
Tschaikowsky Competition in Moscow (Russia).
- Third award in the 47th International
