Andrew moved from Perth, Western Australia to the UK in 2003. He has recently performed for Ex Cathedra, The Chapel Royale and the Mecurius Companie. He spent 2002 performing with The Song Company, Australia’s premier vocal ensemble. While living in Sydney he toured the United States, Europe and Malaysia and throughout Australia. He also studied with Jane Edwards.
Andrew received his Music training from the School of Music at the University of Western Australia where he graduated in 1997 with honours. During this time, he studied voice with Andrew Foote.
While studying for his Bachelor of Music Education degree, Andrew was a Lay Clerk in the St George’s Cathedral Choir, performed for several years with the WA Opera Company and appeared regularly as a soloist for most Perth musical organisations.
In 1995 Andrew founded The Giovanni Consort, establishing a significant subscription series. The Consort has unearthed some important works, several of which were performed for the first time in Perth and many for the first time on authentic instruments. This group is now Perth’s most successful classical music ensembles.
Andrew has a growing list of Operatic performances and in 2001, performed the roll of Chrysodule Babylas in Offenbach’s Mr Cauliflower’s Opera for ABC FM and the roll of Mr Love in Hopkins’ Three’s Company for the WA Conservatorium of Music. His Oratorio performances include Handel’s Messiah, Monteverdi’s Vespers (1610), Bach’s St John Passion Purcell’s King Arthur and Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Handel’s Acis & Galatea and many others. In 2000 Andrew performed with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra.
