Gus Sequoia born on August 7th, 1968 in Annapolis Maryland, first of four children. Gus grew up around southern Maryland and graduated from Landstown High School in Baltimore, Maryland.
Gus began playing drums at the yound age of six, and within a year was playing a variety of percussion instruments. At the age of twelve, he formed his first band, the "Star Gazers". In this band, cover tunes were played such as Santana, Pink Floyd and Led Zepplin to name a few. At the age of sixteen, Gus joined a country/rock band, "Band On The Run". During this time, he began songwriting, playing acoustic guitar, while performing with the band. It was as this time that people were enjoying his songwriting and vocal ability. He quickly became front man for the band writing and performing the originals.
Gus recorded his first Demo "Rebellious Heart" in the year 1992. This demo had a BonJovi influence along with the Moody Blues.
In mid 1994, Gus finished his "Unknown Desire" demo. This demo excelled even higher than his first with the local community. He performed this demo at local clubs then moved onto Convention Centers. Performing at his side, Fitzgerald, formerly of the Charlie Daniels Band.
In early 1999, Gus Sequoia started his third project (CD) entitled "Shadow", written and performed by self. This has proven to be his best work thus far. The "Shadow" has sold over four hundred copies, by word of mouth, since it's completion, August 1999 to date October 1999. Also during this time, Gus opened and performed for the "Pink Floyd Light Show", at the Wicomico Civic Center in Salisbury, Maryland. In addition to this showing, because of the overwhelming response from the crowd, a live version of "Say It No More" was recorded and added to the CD.
