Born in Sofia (capital of Bulgaria)

After graduation from High School in Sofia formal music studies at the State University of Music Sofia, with Prof. Dr. Dobri Paliev ("with distinction")

Formal post-graduate studies (Meisterklasse - Master´s Class) at the State University of Music in Wuerzburg, Germany, with Prof. Dr. h.c. Siegfried Fink

Several scholarships, among them two full-year scholarships of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), many national contest prizes, State Music Prize for the Youth, TV-Prize "The Golden Antenna", ARD-Music Contest Prize for the youngest participant in Munich

As a student in Sofia already a member of the world-renowned Bulgarian State percussion ensemble "Polyrhythmia"

Wessela Kostowa performed as soloist with accompaniment of ensembles and orchestras, as soloist without accompaniment (recitals) as well as as a chamber musician on numerous international festivals and in most of the European and many overseas countries

She made TV and radio broadcasts in Germany, Switzerland, Bulgaria and Greece and can be listened to on many LPs and CDs

Many composers wrote new works for percussion instruments especially for her

Conductor of master classes and seminars for renowned organisations for music education both in Germany and abroad

Her arrangements and method books are published in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Great Britain and the USA, for music publishing houses in Switzerland and the USA she works as an editor.
