Argentina Percussion Duo has its origin in 1986 when Lucio Venturini, who was born in Santa Fe, decide to settle down in Capital Federal and began to study with Daniel Mele, who was invited by Lucio Venturini to take part in Carneviva (a rock band founded by him in 1990) several times.

The idea of playing as a duet came out from those meetings, an we performed at an especial event held at Santa Fe Cathedral Yard in October 1994. Taht was the first time the duet performed but it didn’t have a name. Five years later Mele and Venturini got together again to record a solo album by Gustavo Angelini, singer from Carneviva.

For that opportunity we got the idea to produce a show for the duet only, which saw the light on 14th September in the year of 2000, at Santa Fe ATE auditorium. It can be said that it was the First official performance of Argentina Percussion Duo and it was ransmitted by LT 10 Litoral University radio.

Later on they work holding percussion laboratories before the shows in 2001, Venturini decided to settle down in Brazil but he kept in touch with Daniel Mele and in 2004 they performed again in Santa Fe, on 4th June at Living Santa Fe and in Parana on 5th June at Educational Science University Auditorium. During the same year they went round Patagonia performing at Comodoro Rivadavia Art School on 27th and 28th August supported by Cultural General Head Office and University Extension. They also performed in Caleta Olivia and Trelew.

In 2005, they played at Cultural University Forum on 14th May supported by National University of Litoral Culture Head Office. On 10th June they performed at EMU Musical Education School of La Plata where they offered percussion laboratories for pupils.

Between August and October they recorded their first discographic material, producing also a VD which contents 11 themes composed by themselves and inviting the saxo player Mariano Acosta. This material was edited in May 2006 and it was called Tamboralma.
