Since their formation in 1990, the Orchestra has built up an international reputation for their dynamic and original approach to classical music, contemporary classical music and modern Georgian music. Exigent and authoritative musical critics point out the rendition of the Orchestra, the ensemble harmony, elastic construction of musical phrases, refined nuances, expressiveness of intonations and contagious artistic passion of the musicians and the conductor.
The Orchestra, mad up of 20 leading classical musicians, works throughout the year giving public concerts, touring internationally, recording music and broadcasting on Radio and TV.
The repertoire of the Orchestra is amazingly extensive. The group performs chef-d-oeuvres of different epochs and national schools, eg; J.S. Bach, G.F. Handel, W.A. Mozart, A. Vivaldi. They also perform chef-d-oeuvres of composers of the 20th century - Hindemith, Honegger, M.J. Smith and others. The orchestra also gives special attention to modern Georgian music.
