Marylebone Chamber Orchestra is one of the UK's finest young orchestras. Each performance is a memorable occasion, uniting some of the best recent graduates from London's famous music colleges. The MCO's concerts take advantage of the beautiful venues in and around the Marylebone area such as St. James's Piccadilly and the Duke's Hall at the Royal Academy of Music. MCO soloists and conductors include established international performers Colin Lawson and Peter Sulski as well as rising stars Anthony Weeden, Min-Jung Kim, Viv McLean, Ruth Rogers and Helena Wood.

Since being established in 1998 the MCO has already received much favourable attention in the national and local press and has appeared on Channel 4 Television.

"...the MCO is a lovely outfit. Good atmosphere, fresh and lively playing - splendid."
Jonathan del Mar, world-renowned musicologist.

Principal Conductor and founder of the MCO Dominic Nunns, aged 25, was recently described by The Times as a "great British hope". He has already performed at several of the world's leading festivals, including the BBC Proms, the Verbier Festival, Switzerland, the Savonlinna International Opera Festival, Finland, and the Caesarea International Opera Festival, Israel. He founded and conducted the first ever Palestinian orchestra, the Ramallah Sinfonia, and his realisation of Mozart's unfinished Horn Concerto K494a is published by international Mozart specialists Bärenreiter, Germany.

The MCO has a varied repertoire. Works performed have ranged from J.S.Bach to the contemporary and in doing so have covered styles as diverse as Beethoven, Britten, Cashian, Copland, Haydn, MacRae, Milhaud, Mozart, Rossini and Schubert: the uniting factor is that all of the music performed is high in musical interest and expression. MCO often contrasts well-known music with the unexpected.

Many requests are received by the MCO for smaller ensembles to perform at concerts, recitals, corporate events and weddings. Especially popular are the MCO String Quartet and Wind Quintet. All MCO chamber groups have an extensive and varied repertoire, covering many styles. Their music makes the perfect finishing touch to any event, as serious listening or in the background:

"...two great performancesÉhelping to make our Fellows' day such a success."
Royal Society of Medicine

"...sincere thanks for adding to the wedding celebration by your beautiful music."
Linda Newton

The MCO is sponsored with great commitment by Howard de Walden Estates Ltd:

"Last night's concert was a triumph. The MCO has an exciting future..."
Andrew Ashenden, Chief Executive, Howard de Walden Estates

The orchestra also has a friends scheme and is continually seeking new sources of funding.
