Since the birth of The Las Vegas Philharmonic on the Fourth of July 1998 to the cheers of the capacity audience at Hills Park, Summerlin, the Philharmonic has skyrocketed to proudly take its place as the 4th largest arts organization in the State! The Philharmonic has grown solidly but with unbelievable speed, so that it can now boast of twenty-one activities during its first and formative year. These events include playing for the opening weekend of Bellagio; the 20th Century Fox gathering at Bally's with "Star Wars" composer John Williams making a special guest appearance; performing four concerts for 5,000 fourth and fifth grade students at Artemus W. Ham Hall; the magnificent Mahler "Resurrection" Symphony to a wildly enthusiastic audience in May, and for many other special occasions.
We could not be more encouraged by the enthusiasm and support of many in the city who have helped us achieve and grow far beyond our expectations and we extend grateful thanks to these people.
