Bouwen, repareren, restaureren, in- en verkoop en verhuur van strijkiiistrumenten en accessoires. Er is een ruime keuze meesterinstrumenten in diverse prijsklassen.
Martin Rijsemus groeide op in een omgeving waar ambacht en muziek zich verstrengelden: zijn vader was kunstsmid en zijn moeder speelde viool. Sinds zijn vijfde levensjaar hanteert hijzelf de strijkstok. aanvankelijk onder toeziend oog van de heer Blokbergen aan de muziekschool van Wageningen en in 1974 onder begeleiding van professor Berkovits aan het Conservatorium van Maastricht. Zijn opleiding tot vioolbouwer heeft hij geleerd bij een leermeester in Duitsland, aangevuld met een studie aan de vioolbouwschooi in Mittenwald. Daarnaast heeft hij drie jaar samengewerkt met een Italiaans opgeleide vioolbouwer.
Martin Rijsemus was born into a family of craft and musical traditions. His father was a blacksmith and his mother was a violin player.
From the age of five he was encouraged to play the violin, and first studied at the local music school. At the age of eighteen he was a proficiently fine player to be accepted at the high school of music in Maastricht where he studied under Professor Berkovits Tibor.
In 1978 he became interested in violin making and was lucky enough to be accepted as a student under the Master Violin Maker Hans Joseph Thomas, whilst also attending the violin making school in Mittenwald, Germany. After completing his studies he worked together with a Italian violin maker for three years.
Martin opened his shop in 1980 in the old quarter of Maastricht. He repairs all professional players string instruments and trades in very fine quality violins, violas and cellos. He also stocks a wide selection of bows and string accessories. Martin is also a respected maker of violins, violas and cellos and has to date made twenty two instruments. Martin Rijsemus is very keen to show interested clients the fine quality instruments he can produce.
