Malcolm Healey has been making violins, violas, cellos and double-basses for more than twenty years. He studied in London and started by making his first violin (baroque instrument) which is being used professionally by one of London's leading players. Malcolm has since gone from strength to strength making very fine instruments. He feels lucky that he has in stock at least twenty years more of fine aged tonewoods with which to make instruments such as the double-bass that he can be seen finishing in the photo (above), a copy of a Carlo Giuseppe Testore of the Milan period c1710.
Malcolm is quite willing to talk to anyone about making and can offer any style of string instrument that a customer might wish for.
