A graduate from The Juilliard School in New York, Mexican pianist Alejandro Vela has performed throughout Europe, Israel, Central and North America in recital, as a soloist and in chamber music. Some important venues include appearances at the Ravinia Festival with the Chicago Symphony, at Jones Hall with the Houston Symphony, at Alice Tully Hall with the Juilliard Symphony and also in the Netherlands at Amsterdam's Royal Concertgebouw. Apart from many recitals in his native Mexico (Guadalajara, Monterrey, Mexico City etc.), he played with the major Mexican orchestras such as the Mexico City Philharmonic, State of Mexico Symphony, Carlos Chavez Symphony, State of Queretaro Philharmonic and the Jalisco Philharmonic. He has also worked with many distinguised conductors such as Christoph Eschenbach, Jahja Ling, Kirk Trevor, Robert Hart Baker, Kenneth Jean, and Juan Carlos Lomónaco.
