NOW WITH A LARGE COLLECTION OF PIANO VIDEOS FOR YOUR VIEWING PLEASURE !
THOUGH KNOWN PRIMARILY as a best-selling novelist, Joe Townley also plays classical piano. A finger injury suffered during his teens robbed him of a career on the concert stage. In 1981, the injury finally forced him to turn his back on the instrument. For 19 years he rarely touched a piano, concentrating, instead, on building a career as a writer. The publication of one of his novels in 2000 inspired him to begin practicing again. Today he's reclaimed much of the technique he once possessed as a rising star of the classical music scene. View digital videos in QuickTime Format of Joe performing such works as Chopin's virtuosic Etude in c#-minor Op.10 No.4, excerpts from his Scherzi No's 1 & 2, excerpts from several Rachmaninoff Preludes, and his own "Hommage a Rachmaninoff" in tribute to the great Russian composer's "Elegie".
IN ADDITION to his duties as a classical pianist and novelist, Joe also writes pop/MOR songs. Listen to several of them being added to his website in full orchestral arrngements with vocalist in the next few months.
