Maria was born in Varna, Bulgaria.She had her first contact with the piano at the age of 5 -she was admitted as a student in the prestigious State Music School "Dobri Hristov". Maria studied piano in the class of Prof Eugen Pilibosian for the next 13 years.During this time she took part in many but not less than 2 a year piano concerts as a solo performer. The repertoire range was exciting and very wide-from Bach and Handel to Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Rachmaninow and some contemporary composers.
At 1984 Maria took part in the "Svetoslav Obretenoff" National Piano Competition - and was awarded 3rd prize. During her time as a student in this School she was also a private student with Prof Liuba Obretenova and Prof Millena Mollova-both professors with the Musical Conservatoire-Sofia, Bulgaria-both very well known names amidst the musical society in Bulgaria and Europe.
Maria graduated the Music School with excellent marks and a Silver Star for achievements and soon after that she spent a year teaching piano in a private music school near Varna.During this year Maria became a private student of Prof Liubomir Dinolov-who was also teaching in the Musical
Conservatoire, Sofia. Upon finishing this first year of her teaching experience she entered the competition and was admitted as a student in the Academy of Music and Dance Arts-city of Plovdiv with Prof George Petrov as her piano tutor.
Maria took part in many concerts and just some of the most interesting of them that we could mention were: Chopin-all of the Nocturnes, Bach-Die Kunst
Der Fuge, Beethoven-all of the Piano Concertos.After graduating the Academy as a Bachelor in Music Maria devoted most of her time to her students .
Maria moved to London , UK in the Summer of 2000 and since then she managed to establish a very big class with more than 40 regular students with numbers of them passing exams with excellent results.
In London Maria teaches Piano and Music Theory and prepare students from Grade 1 to Grade 8 and beyond.
