Pavlina Radoslavova is a Russian-trained concert pianist, and one
of Bulgaria's most talented classical performers.
Starting the piano at the age of five, she quickly became noticed
for her skills; winning several national and international piano
competitions and the competitive entrance examinations that gave her
access to Bulgaria's most talented piano professors.
By the age of nineteen, Radoslavova had entered into Bulgaria's
most prestigious musical institution - the Bulgarian National Academy
of Music; ranking in the top-three performers from over eighty five
candidates.
Pavlina completed her first music degree under the famous Russian
piano professors Julia and Konstantin Ganevi; passing with
distinction.
Following her graduation, she went on to study for her Masters
Degree in Music in the piano classes of the Russian piano professor
Marina Kapazinska, which she also passed with distinction. She took a
further specialisation in chamber music under professor Angel
Stankov, then concertmaster of the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra.
Radoslavova won a position in the staff of the Bulgarian National
Academy of Music in 1988 where she worked in the Operatic-,
Symphonic- and Choral-Conducting department. She became head pianist
in 1998 and remained at the academy until she relocated to England in
September 2002.
To date, Pavlina has given solo performances, concerts and
professional master-classes in over 14 countries in Europe, the
Middle East and Asia.
As a soloist she regularly gives piano concerts and recitals and
continues to give master-classes internationally.
In 2002 Pavlina embarked on a new recording venture with the
American label "Eroica Classical Recordings" of Santa Fe, USA.
Pavlina is involved in several collaborative music projects with
composers from Bulgaria, Spain and other European countries.
Musical Education
- 1969 First learned piano at the age of five from her
grandmother, Theodora Delova; a well-respected professional
pianist.
- 1970 - 1978 Attended the Primary Music School, Tchirpan (from
the age of six until the age of fourteen).Winner of the 2nd and
3rd prizes at the National Youth Competition for Piano (1971 and
1974).
- 1978 - 1983 Attended the High Music School, Sofia in the piano
classes of Professor Vaskresia Valchanova.1st prize "Gold medal
winner" - 5th Republican Festival for Amateur Arts, Bulgaria
(1978). 2nd prize at the 8th National Competition for Piano,
Provadia (1982).
- 1983 - 1988 Study at the Bulgarian Academy of Music, Sofia in
the piano classes of Professors Julia and Konstantin Ganevi.
Participation in numerous chamber music and orchestral concert
performances. Graduated Bachelors Degree in Music with distinction
at the Bulgarian State Musical Academy, Sofia and further study in
the piano classes of the Russian Professor Marina Kapazinska.
- 1988 - 1990 Numerous concert performances with the Bulgarian
Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra and Razgrad Symphony
Orchestra. Numerous classical recordings for the Balkanton Record
Company, Bulgarian National Radio, etc.
- 1990 -1992 Masters Degree in Music; Two-year intensive degree
course with specialisation in Chamber Music under Professor Angel
Stankov. Graduation of Masters Degree in Music with distinction.
- 1988 - 2001 Head Pianist at the Bulgarian National Academy of
Music Operatic-, Symphonic- and Choral-Conducting departments.
Accompanist / instructor for the "Harp" Chamber Choir, the Post
& Telecommunications Choir and the choir of Bulgarian National
Radio. Member of the "Trio for Contemporary Music", an ensemble
dedicated to playing new contemporary works from Bulgarian and
foreign composers (since 1997). Concert tours throughout Europe as
well as a wide range of classical recordings and master-classes.
- 2001 - 2002 Concert Pianist, England. Concert performances and
recitals around the United Kingdom. Recording Contract for "Eroica
Classical Recordings", Santa Fe, USA in 2002. Classical Music
projects with Bulgarian, Spanish and other European contemporary
composers.

International Experience
- Vienna, Austria - Radoslavova has given piano performances in
two of Austria's most beautiful cities; Vienna and Graz. Most
recently, she performed at the 1997 Contemporary Music Festival.
- Prague, Czech Republic - In 1986, Pavlina was both a performer
and accompanist at the Prague International Spring Festival
"Prague Spring".
- Florence, Venice, Italy - Pavlina took part in the
International Piano Competition in Senigalia, Italy in 1987, for
which she received an honorary Italian diploma. In 1992, Pavlina
returned to Italy for a 3-month tour where she performed in a
number of Italian cities. As one of her favourite countries,
Pavlina has played in many parts of Italy, from Sicily in the
south to Gorizia in the north.
- Weimar, Germany - Radoslavova has performed several times in
Germany, most notably in 1988, when she gave performances at the
International Music Seminar in Weimar. To date, she has played in
Aisenacht, Dresden, Erfurt, Essen, Frankfurt, Halle, Leipzig, and
Wiesbaden.
- Athens, Greece - Pavlina visited Athens in 1997 when on tour
with the Bulgarian National Radio Choir as their pianist /
repetiteur.
- Seoul, Korea - Radoslavova has strong links to South Korea,
which she visited twice a year between 1992 and 2001. She has
toured Korea extensively, giving master classes and concert
performances in many major cities. Pavlina's regular teaching
visits include instructing Korean students in orchestral- and
opera-conducting and master classes. She is involved in
accompanying and instructing students preparing for graduation and
specialisation performances in Seoul.
- Amsterdam, The Netherlands - In 1995, Pavlina spent two months
in Amsterdam, under the renowned conductor Pierre Schautemaker.
She was the pianist and accompanist for a Dutch theatre production
based upon the Puccini opera "Turandot".
- Muscat, The Sultanate of Oman - Pavlina was invited to Oman in
1996, where she spent several months as a guest instructor for
master classes at the High Music School, Muscat, Sultanate of
Oman.
- Stockholm, Sweden - Pavlina played in Gothenburg and
Stockholm, Sweden in 1994.
