MARIO PARRELLA: CURRICULUM VITAE

Italian, born in Aversa (Caserta) in 1967, started studying piano since he was 3 years old.

After his moving with the family to Bergamo, prosecuted his musical studies to the State Conservatory of Music "G. Verdi" in Milan in the pianoforte-class of Maestro Alberto Colombo, under whom guide reached a brilliant graduation and prosecuted the post-graduate studies.

In 1989 was heard by the famous Russian pianist Lazar Berman, by whom received lessons of High Pianistic Specialization.

Mario Parrella did give recitals for many important artistic associations of National and International importance, like "la Società dei Concerti", the "Teatro delle Erbe", the "A. Mozzati" association, the "Angelicum" the "Rosetum", the "Circolo della Stampa" in Milan.

In Bergamo did give recitals for the Musical Festivals of the "G. Donizetti" Institute, for "Jeunesse Musical d'Italie" for the "Circolo Artistico Bergamasco" and the "Centro Culturale S. Bartolomeo".

In Naples did give recitals for the "W. A. Mozart" and the "F. Durante" Associations with Liszt dedicated programs.

He did many National and International Competitions always obtaining alluring results.

In 1988 obtained the Second Prize (First Prize not assigned) to the "C. Vidusso" Competition in Milan, in 1990 the Forth Prize to the "A. Mozzati" Competition at the "L. Bocconi" University in Milan:

In 1980 obtained the Special Mention by the Jury to the "A. Cortot" International Competition in Milan:

Many times finalist at the "Rina Sala Gallo" International Competition, in 1990 won the "Premio Zucchi". In Naples was semi-finalist at the "A. Casella" International Competition.

In 1997 acted for Italy at the "Geza Anda" International Competition in Zurich.

In 1994 took part in the International Competition for Collaborator Masters at the "Teatro alla Scala" in Milan and won a biennial scholarship like Apprentice Collaborator Master.

In this ambit started to study the Orchestral Conducting and the Musical Analysis under the leadership of the Masters Adelchi Amisano, Salvatore Sciarrino, Armando Gatto and participated to the International Stages of the Guest Conductors of the Theatre.

During his apprentice at the "Teatro alla Scala" he took part to the staging and the performance of many spectacles of the Opera's Seasons.

He worked with the most famous Conductors like Valery Gergiev, Riccardo Chailly, Giuseppe Sinopoli, Gianandrea Gavazzeni, Colin Davis, Myung Wun Chung, Seiji Ozawa, Gianluigi Gelmetti, Georges Pretre, and naturally with Riccardo Muti, the actual Principal Conductor of the "Teatro alla Scala".

In 1998 made his debut as Conductor with the "Jupiter Ensemble" giving recitals dedicated to A. Corelli, G. F. Haendel and J. S. Bach.

Actually Mario Parrella, besides the intense concert activity like soloist and in duo with lyric singers, holds the role of Conductor and Principal for the "Coro Lirico Bresciano" in Brescia.
