Greg Niemczuk was born in 1985 in Myslowice(Poland). He began his piano studying at the age of seven under Ms. Barbara Klikiewicz in The School of Music in Tychy. During his first six years of studying he managed to get some prizes at interschool and Polish piano competitions for young musicians: in Zabrze(distinction), Warsaw and Chorzow(2nd prize).

In 2004 he finished with the highest distinction the Secondary Music School in Katowice. During his diploma-performance he played the first movement of 1 Piano Concerto in b-flat minor by Peter Tchaikovsky. Now he is a third-year-student at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice. Since 2001 he is a student of Prof. Jozef Stompel(prize winner of International Chopin’s Piano Competition in Warsaw, George Enescu Piano Competition in Bucuresti).

He took part in many masterclasses working under such artists as: Rudolf Bernatik(Ostrava), Joseph Banovetz,  Andrzej Jasinski(Poland), Aleksiej Orlovetsky(Sankt Petersburg), Krystian Zimerman(Poland). In july 2006 he got a scholarship from Brimingham International Piano Academy which let him take part in sumer course in Birmingham, where he worked with a great British pianist- Peter Donohoe.

Greg Niemczuk won numerous prizes and distinctions at piano competitions, e.g.

- Distinction at the National Piano Competition in Konin(Poland) – 2000

- I Prize at the 6th International Silesian Piano Competition in Zabrze(Poland) 2003

- Distinction and special prize(for the best interpretation of M.Magin’s work) and the 1st Interschool Chopin’s Piano Competition in memory of Milosz Magin in Lodz(Poland) – 2004

- III Prize at the 4th International Chopin Piano Competition in Varna(Bulgaria) – 2005

- Special Blüthner Prize at the 3rd International Ferenz Liszt Piano Competition in Wroclaw-2005

- III Prize at the National Frederick Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw – 2006

- I Prize at the 11th International Piano Competition “Stefano Marizza” in Trieste(Italy) – 2007

- V Prize at the National Frederick Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw - 2007

In November 2007 he reached Semi-Final at the 58th Concorso Internazionale di Musica "G.B.Viotti", in Vercelli and got an invitation for  recitals in the Theatro Civico in Vercelli in 2008.

He received many scholarships(Prime Minister’s, Minister of Culture) and is giving a lot of performances in Poland, Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovenia, Germany, Spain, Italy and England.
