Alfonso Maribona finished his studies in Piano and Chamber Music at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid, where he graduated and was awarded the First Prize unanimously. He then continued his musical training at the Höchschule für Musik in Vienna.

He has been first prize and finalist at important piano competitions in Spain and Italy, and has been a soloist with orchestras such as the Bucharest Philharmonic, Brasov Philharmonic, Sinfónica de Bilbao, RTV  Macedonia and the Orquesta de Cámara Española. He is regularly invited to participate in International Music Festivals.

His solo piano recitals include venues such as Teatro Real de Madrid,  Auditorio Nacional de España, Philharmonic Spanish Societies, Teatro Monumental de Madrid, Palau de la Música in Barcelona and Ateneul Roman in Bucharest. He has toured almost all Europe, South America and Japan, where he has often recorded.

Alfonso has been invited to record the most varied styles of music for Radio Nacional de España, Televisión Española, the Yugoslavian Radio TV, the Czech Republic National Radio and many of the most popular television channels in Spain, Italy, Ireland, Colombia and Japan.

He is a pianist at the Orquesta Nacional de España, Orquesta de RTVE, Sinfónica de Madrid, Sinfónica de Bilbao and the European Union Youth Orchestra, where he also teaches.

He is frequently invited to be a member of the jury in piano and chamber music competitions, as well as to give master classes.

The international and national critics have always been unanimous regarding the clear and expressive accuracy of his playing: “energy and brightness” or “exquisite display” are words that often appear in the reviews.
