Born, June 23, 1962, in Milan, Marco Cecchinelli studies at the "N. Paganini" Conservatorium of Music in Genoa.
There he received his diplomas, in piano with Lidia Arcuri in 1983 and in 1989 for composition with Federico Ermirio. In this period he also studied chamber music with noted international pianist Massimiliano Damerini and has successfully taken part in national and international Competitions.
Later he participated in several master classes with Mario Delli Ponti and Piero Rattalino ("Asolo-Musica"), with noted international pianist Murray Perahia and with Carl Schacter in Florence ("Amici della musica") dedicated to Chopin and Schenkerian analysis, with Oxana Yablonskaya of the « Julliard School » in Ascona ("Ticino musica") and as conducter at the "G. Verdi" Conservatorium of Music in Milan with Gabriele Bellini.
He has taken part as pianist-collaborator in International courses for flute with A. Nicolet, violin with R. Fain, singing with Mariella Devia among numerous others.
He has collaborated with important institutions of concerts, has made recordings for the R.A.I. and played in famous concert-hall which "St. Martin-in-the-Fields" (2000 - 2003), "Bosendorfer Saal" in Wien, "Teatro alle Erbe" in Milan, "Villa Rufolo" in Ravello, "Il Tempietto" in Rome and many others.
Recently (March 2003) he have given successfully of audience and critics many concerts in Germany (Hamburg, Kiel, Lübeck, Wolfsburg, etc.) and have produced a CD for the label "Philarmonia" of Genoa (www.philarmonia.com) with pianomusic of Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt and Debussy.
At the moment he is very active and giving concerts as a soloist (with a wide repertoire, from Bach to Berio) and more rarely, chamber music with various instrumentalists and singers.
He is available also on a repertoire to request for the next season ('03-'04).
