......was born in Colchester, UK. She studied at the Royal Academy of Music, London, and trained as both a pianist and an organist: her teachers included Peter Hurford and John Cooper for organ, and Imogen Cooper for piano.
Alison spent her early twenties as a concert pianist but finally decided on a career at the organ. She is now in great demand as a recitalist, both in the UK and abroad.
Recent and forthcoming engagements in the UK include recitals at St. Paul's Cathedral and at Sheffield, Bristol, Portsmouth and Truro Cathedrals, at Cheltenham Town Hall and at many City of London churches.
During 1998 she has performed in Germany, Denmark and Sweden, and plans to tour Scandinavia again during 1999.
She has appeared many times on television in the UK: on the most recent occasions she was featured on BBC2's Esther programme and on Channel 5's Espresso. Earlier this year she was also invited to join Radio 4's Ad Lib discussion programme with Robert Robinson.
In addition to her concert work, Alison frequently gives talks and masterclasses, and adjudicates competitions.
