Ian Rae piano entertainer, jazz pianist, and keyboards player, was born in Glasgow, Scotland more than fifty years ago, and studied Classics and Music at Glasgow University, gaining a Master of Arts Degree in the process.

As well as playing piano and keyboards on a regular basis, and working as composer, songwriter, and musical director on a freelance basis, he also had a real job in computing for thirty years, finally retiring from the role of Technical Strategy Manager with Commercial Union five years ago to concentrate on his music.

Now, he works as a peripatetic music teacher, as well as playing jazz and cocktail piano at corporate and private functions, parties and restaurants. Having worked for thirty years in computers, he quickly became an expert on the Roland VA-7 arranger keyboard, which he will use when a white grand piano is not available. As one might suspect from his decades listening to music, he has a vast repertoire of music from the past fifty years, as well as the countless standards which pre-date him.

Located just south of Croydon he is within easy range of London, Surrey, Kent and Sussex
