David Jenkin entertains in a variety of popular music styles ranging from Jazz standards to Rock and Country to Classical. He has played throughout the continental United States, Canada, and on several Caribbean cruise ships. He has played in bands throughout his musical career and performed as a keyboardist and musical arranger for name acts from the fifties and sixties, as well as nationally known country and western stars. David enjoys performing for people of all ages, making the most of his large continental repertoire. His professional artistry covers more than 30 years.

Just recently, David performed at Java Jazz in Honokowai, HI(Maui) thru the month of September. Java Jazz is an awesome little bistro. Farzad, the owner, also performed with David on his classical guitar. What an incerdible presentation of middle eastern crossed with spanish guitar.

Prior to leaving South Florida, David freshened his large repertoire entertaining at the Brick Alley in downtown Fort Myers. Here he led audiences in the Rock and Roll sing-a-long dueling pianos format originated by the "Howl at the Moon" chain, modeled after the dueling pianos format used at the famed Pat O'Briens in New Orleans. After working the season, David is convinced that this is the wave of the future for sing-a-long piano bars. David is equally skilled in this format on guitar and is available for dates either as a pianist or guitarist.

David first went solo in 1976 after touring with national show and dance bands. Playing in a popular piano bar in downtown Montreal during the Olympics gave him familiarity with international music. Taking requests for numbers that he'd prepare for the following evening brought together an enormous collection of songs that makes him a popular cosmopolitan entertainer. While playing at Johnny at the B at the Berkeley Hotel in the heart of Montreal, David encountered cutting-edge jazz . Through local jazz musicians who came to jam for open mike nights, he came to pursue his interest in jazz with noteworthy instructors and mentors.

In 1978, David moved to Boca Raton, FL where he continued to work as a single entertainer. In 1983, he formed the band Slic Friction. The band backed up many of the legendary vocal groups from the fifties and sixties. Slic Friction also performed their own stage show from the Legends of Rock and Roll. The band appeared at thousands of events in its decade of existence. Gigs included every major club that had entertainment from the fifties and sixties in Florida, and countless conventions and corporate parties at the best resort hotels in South Florida. Slic Friction played as far south as San Juan, Puerto Rico and Key West to as far north as the Pontra Vedra Country Club, The Ritz-Carlton in Naples, FL and Little Darlin's in Kissimmee, FL.

During his 21 year residence in Boca Raton and more recently Fort Myers Beach, FL, David has been in continuous demand in popular night clubs, hotels, resorts and country clubs throughout South Florida.

David is currently interested in playing private functions, country clubs and resorts with his band 'The David Jenkin Happening Band'. The band consist of himself and a drummer and is expandable to as many pieces as is needed.
