Trumpeter/singer/composer and organizer Eef van Breen was born the third of January 1978 in a village called Westerbork.
He started his musical journey in Rotterdam, studying at the high school of music and dance, and continued his study at the conservatory of Arnhem.
At this conservatory he had lessons from bugelist/mouthharp-player/arranger Koos van der Sluis.
In 1998 he organized the Chet Baker Memorial Concert in Arnhem and played with pianist Harold Danko bass player Hein van der Geyn and drummer John Engels.
As a singer Eef van Breen became second at the Dutch Jazz Vocalist Concourse in 1999.
He recorded his first cd on behalf of this prize.
As a composer he debuted on a radio commercial composing the ZEISS-tune.
In 2000 Eef van Breen graduated from the conservatory, and made his second cd with his teacher Koos van der Sluis ; 'septet'.
He also produced this cd.
Recently Eef van Breen is working with the duo Reinen and van Breen/ the Koos van der Sluis septet and the bossanova quintet.
