Forthcoming Concerts

Bobby Chen (piano) - One of the most respected young artists of his generation, Bobby Chen, born in Sandakan, Malaysia, burst on the scene in 1996 with a sensational season of concerts, which included a British tour with Lord Menuhin in a performance of Beethoven's Triple Concerto and a recital at the Royal Festival Hall as part of the South Bank Prokofiev Festival.

Since then, regular appearances in mainstream London and British venues such as Bridgewater Hall, the Royal Concert Hall, the Royal Festival Hall, Purcell Room and the Wigmore Hall have contributed to Chen's remarkably fast rise as a household name in Britain and the Far East.

Yi Yao (accordion) - Yi graduated with First Class Honours from the Royal Academy of Music. She won the acclaim of accordionists such as Frederich Lips, Mie Miki, Oleg Sharov and received many prizes for both piano and accordion in Chinese and international competitions. In 2001 she performed at the London Accordion Festival and with the Halle Orchestra at the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester, and in December 2002 won a prize for 'Best Performance of the Test Piece' at the prestigious Arrasate Hiria International Accordion Festival. She toured extensively in Europe, Egypt and South East Asia. She was featured on the Chinese Central Television and has recently recorded an accordion concerto with Naxos with conductor/composer José Serebrier and the Toulouse National Chamber Orchestra, which received two Grammy nominations.

Simon Davies (guitar) - Simon began playing at the age of 10. He studied at the Royal College of Music with Charles Ramirez and Michael Lewin. Still in his teens he won several competitions, including the Chiltern Radio Young Musician of the Year and performed widely. He became a representative for the UK at the European Young Musicians Concerts and received an honours degree in music from the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester, where he studied with Gordon Crosskey and John Williams. Simon has recorded "Guitar Serenade" a CD released for Telstar Records, and "Lo Scenario", a CD of original music written for his duo, the Serci - Davies Guitar Duo.

Matt Baker (double bass) - Matt mixes and matches the styles of music he plays and created for himself an interesting and varied freelance career. In his jazz work he played alongside musicians such as Clark Terry, Harold Danko, Victor Mendoza and Ryan Kisor. He also works with the Philharmonia, the Royal Philharmonic, Halle Orchestra, and the Goldberg Ensemble. Recently he appeared on stage acting and playing with the theatrical/musical string septet, the Gogmagogs, who have just completed their world tour and are about to embark on a UK tour. A sample of Matt's fusion of classical, jazz and folk work can be found on a CD under the name of the Celtic harp legend, Catriona McKay.

Anete Graudina (violin) - Anete was trained first in Riga and later in Moscow. She was violinist with the Orchestra of the Latvian Opera and Ballet before joining the Chamber Orchestra of the Latvian University. She moved to London in 1995 where she teaches the violin. She is a member of the Kew Sinfonia Orchestra where she recently played as soloist. She has given numerous recitals in her native Latvia, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Sicily, and in England at venues including the Holywell Music Room, Oxford, St. James, Piccadilly, Burgh House, Hampstead.
