Miss Hypnotique was born under a wandering star, not long after the death of Elvis. As a king died, a little queen was born. Showing exceptional musical gifts, she wowed friends and family from an early age. After leaving school, she studied music and drama at the University of Birmingham and Birmingham Conservatoire where she specialised in contemporary dance, clarinet performance and electro-acoustic composition. Her dissertation on "Space Age Music and the Moog", based on cult electronic/easy listening bands in Birmingham and the evolution of electronic music was a basis for her enthusiasm in the theremin and synthesizers.

However, it was the dirty mire of the art of Rock n Roll in which she was set to wallow for the future, and in 2000 she began to pursue her love for experimental pop music, and became the keyboard player of post rock band Nought. During the next 18 months, she promoted their debut album "Nought", released on Shifty Disco Records with promotional tours, obsessive gigging and a BBC Maida Vale session for John Peel.

In early 2001 she decided to pursue her theremin obsession, and after playing with a first "home made" theremin made by her electronics wizard brother, she purchased her first theremin proper in 2001 and began her work as a thereminist in earnest. Coupled with her multi-instrumental skills playing keyboards, piano and clarinet, she was soon in demand.

She has since given numerous performances as both solo, guest and band member under the name "Miss* Hypnotique", including guesting on Classic Psychedelic rockers Gong offshoot band Zorch's album "Glastonbury Live" and a demonstration of the theremin on TV station "Networks of the World". 2001 was a busy year with 3 promotional European tours with London band Heist. She is now also in the permanent line up of reputed alternative Scottish band Dawn of the Replicants who have recently completed new recordings.

Hypnotique, her solo project is often performed with Midlands jazz pianist Andrew Bland; a mixture of showcase theremin, "world cabaret" and downright insanity, wowing audiences around the country. But it is for the stars that Miss* Hypnotique is truly heading. She hopes, in time, to take the instrument to new levels unseen by a British artist performing a diverse repertoire of jazz, classical, avant-garde and easy listening music as well as performing commercially as a session musician for recordings, film soundtracks and live events, always with the highest standards of musicianship and a keen sense of fun. She hopes to be able to cross the line from the instrument as a cult "toy" to a serious instrument capable of great musicality and ability to entertain. She is currently starting recording work on her debut album.

Recent projects include performing in the house band for zany TV game show "House of Astonishment" (due for broadcast Channel 5 August 2002), performing on Stars in Their Eyes winner Emma Wilkinson's album: "Son of a Preacher Man" and studying in Hamburg under legendary theremin virtuoso Lydia Kavina.
