Petar Ivanovic is a full-time professor at the Belgrade Faculty of Music. In his forty years long artistic career he was viola section leader in the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, soloist with different ensembles, but he has devoted himself especially to chamber music. He took part in foundation and activities of several chamber ensembles - the Belgrade Chamber Orchestra (Antonio Janigro and Pavle Despalj), the Serbian String Quartet (Branko Pajevic), String Quartet and Chamber Orchestra of the Belgrade Philharmonics.
The development of the viola in Belgrade owes a great deal to the devoted and creative pedagogical activity of professor Ivanovic - at first in different secondary music schools in Belgrade, in the Cuprija School for Especially Gifted Students and finally at the Belgrade Faculty of Music.
Petar Ivanovic is one of the founders, artistic director and conductor of ST GEORGE STRINGS to which he has devoted the last eight years of his work with great success, creativity and expertise.
