Born in British Columbia in 1972, Jordan Grigg has been teaching since 1988. He has taught and continues to teach all stringed, wind and brass instruments, piano, all RCM theory, harmony, history, counterpoint, analysis, conducting and composition (of which many of his students have won first place in festivals and competitions) at his own studio in Wolfville (please check the contact page for specific areas of instruction). From 1994 to present he has taught students from many different disciplines from all areas of Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM Gr. Intro-ARCT) preparation to festivals and competitions. A very high number of his students have won awards and festivals across the province and many have continued musical studies and professional endeavors after their graduation. He has taught in public schools and private academies in the fields of violin, piano and many other instruments as well as various string programs. Such institutions include Dorian Hall Academy of Music, Annapolis Academy of Music, Cambridge Elementary and Wolfville Schools and Eastside Academy and particularly Kings-Edgehill School where he was on the string, piano and theory faculty and taught piano, violin, flute, clarinet, cello, theory, harmony, counterpoint and composition. From the most recent Annapolis Music Festival (2007) one of his students won five trophies including best composition, most outstanding fiddler, best sonata and concerto, best brass as well as winning the Herbin Bowl for most Outstanding Performer.
