Biography as Singer

Nicola Edwards took a BA in Music at Reading University, and the MMus in Composition at Kings College London where she studied with Nicola LeFanu and Silvina Milstein. She went on to complete the PGCE in Secondary Music Teaching at Cambridge University, and the MA in Composing for Film, Television and Theatre at Bristol University.

Her compositions include choral and instrumental pieces, children's music, church music, film and television title/incidental tracks, and music for theatre. Most recent performances include the choral piece 'Be My Love', sung by Bristol University Singers, and 'Cosmic Death' for soprano and 17 solo strings, which Nicola sang with the Chamber Orchestra of Cambridge. Nicola is proficient in instrumentation and arranging, using live instruments and/or MIDI sequencers, of music from 1 performer to full orchestra. She is familiar with the studio environment as both a composer and singer. A demo tape is available with examples of her work in various styles.

Nicola Edwards took a BA in Music at Reading University, MMus in Composition at Kings College London, PGCE at Cambridge University, and MA in Composing for Film, Television and Theatre at Bristol University. She continues her studies with regular singing lessons in London.

Nicola has a particular interest in studio session singing. She is familiar with the studio environment, having composed and sung for film/TV soundtracks in pop and classical styles. She has sung for various choral CD recordings including solo parts, and can offer excellent sight-reading and musicianship.

Nicola has sung with Ex Collegio Cantabrigiensi, Bath Camerata, the Mixed Choir of Jesus College Cambridge, King's College London Chapel Choir, Bristol University Singers, and the Royal Academy of Music Chamber Choir. She has taken part in various overseas choir tours - most recently to Paris where she sang the soprano solos for Dvorak's 'Mass in D' in Notre Dame Cathedral.
