"...impressive musical expression and exceptional team work..."
"...technical perfection of the soloists...harp, oboe and violin in a rare constellation which offered the audience unknown musical experiences..."
The Orpheus Soloists were founded by the young oboe virtuoso Dimitris Kitsos and owes its origin to his passionate love of chamber music.
Midway between the intimacy of the string quartet and the breath of the symphony orchestra, the chamber orchestra affords a particularly interesting approach to music thanks to its human dimensions: it is an ideal partner for a soloist, with whom it carries a dialogue as an equal and for a vocal ensemble is sacred music. With its rich variety of formas ans scorings, it permits a high level of interaction among the musicians and a genuine contact with the audience.
Bearing this in mind, Dimitris Kitsos assembled exceptional musicians, from all over the world which are capable of working closely and cohesively. They treat the various musical styles - baroque, classical, romantic, contemporary - with the same rigor and the same integrity in their interpretations. Finally, these are musicians who share the same goal: music - making with conviction and passion.
The Orpheus Soloists is a widely recognised chamber ensemble, which amply proven its claim to serious music making by its concerts, often given with participation of musicians who have all been won over by the ensemble's valuable artistic human resources - Vladimir Mendelssohn, Winfried Rademacher, Federico Agostini, Maria Kliegel, Milan Turkovic, Xenia Jankonitch.
The Orpheus Soloists are preparing to perform - Bulgaria, Ex-Yugoslavia, Germany, Italy, Greece, South Korea - and record a wide range of repertory, a lively mix of periods and styles with regular inclusion of contemporary works.
Dimitris Kitsos is artistic and music director of the Orpheus Soloists.
