The Quartet plays regularly at many leading UK chamber music venues and on BBC Radio 3. Its members are also experienced in coaching chamber music at the Birmingham Conservatoire, and run several other courses each year. They hold residencies at Brunel University, Christ Church College (Canterbury) and are Ensemble in Residence for South East Arts for 1994-6. The Maggini Quartet has been chosen to participate in the NFMS Concert Promoters' Network 1997-98.In 1993 they recorded Schubert's 'Death and the Maiden' live at the Wigmore Hall, London, and more recently a CD of Szymanowski/Bacewicz (ASV), both of which received exceptional reviews in the UK and abroad.

The Maggini Quartet's recording of Haydn Op.33 quartets was awarded Ten Stars, the highest possible rating, in France's leading record review magazine, Repertoire des Disques Compacts. Two forthcoming releases for Naxos feature Moeran and Frank Bridge, and during 1995/96 the Quartet will record three further CDs for Naxos, including the Elgar quartet/piano quintet with Peter Donohoe and all the Britten quartets. The Maggini Quartet has commissioned a number of works, including Robert Simpson's Cello Quintet, to be premiered in 1996 at Cheltenham International Festival. 1996 will also see the first performance of 'Olivia' by Roxanna Panufnik, at Brunel University, London.

Among other highly successful commissions are quartets by Eleanor Alberga and David Gow.

Four musicians whose delight in their work is irresistible: since its inception in 1988 the Maggini Quartet has quickly established itself as a highly acclaimed international quartet appearing at festivals and major halls throughout the UK, Europe, the USA, Japan and Korea. They are returning to America and Scandanavia in 1996. Laurence Jackson Violin I, Martin Outram Viola, David Angel Violin II, Michal Kaznowski Cello.
