Katarzyna Borek was born in Puck, Poland, on 05-01-1980. She started her musical education at the age of five with her mother Regina Borek (professor of piano at Public School of Music in Puck and Public School of Music in Gdynia, Poland, specialisation: primary education, master of piano) and started her career as a professional pianist at the age of 12 with her first performance as a soloist with orchestra. 1986 - 1989: Public School of Music in Puck, Poland, in the piano class of prof. At the age of 12, Katarzyna Borek starts to work with the great Polish pianist of Bulgarian origin prof. Katarzyna Popova-Zydron (professor at several Academies and Conservatories of Music in Poland, concert pianist and famous pedagogue who gives master classes in Poland and other countries. Prof. Popova-Zydron is a laureate of many prestigious international piano competitions in the world, for instance the International Frederic Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, ARD International Piano Competition in Munich and others...). Prof. Katarzyna Popova-Zydron takes Katarzyna under her lead for the next 12 years, preparing her piano career and accompanying her at many international competitions and concerts. Katarzyna Borek becomes one of the first laureates of her class and she obtains more than 10 main prizes at international and national piano competitions.

1996 - 1998: Frederic Chopin College of Music in Gdansk, Poland, in the piano class of prof. Katarzyna Popova-Zydron

In 2003, Katarzyna goes to Brussels to study at the Royal Flemish Conservatory of Music with the great pianist professor Daniel Blumenthal (a very famous American pianist of German origin, laureate of many international competitions, such as: Queen Elisabeth International Piano Competition, Feruccio Busoni International Piano Competition, International Piano Competition in Geneva, Leeds International Piano Competition etc ...). Katarzyna Borek has been working under his direction from 2003 until now. As a reward for her studies in Belgium she received a scholarship of the Polish Ministry of Culture and the Flemish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
