Born in London in 1980, Andrew studied at the Royal College of Music Junior Department and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, with John Miller, Paul Cosh and Paul Beniston. He was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, and Principal Trumpet of the National Musicians Symphony Orchestra for two years.

On graduating in July 2002, Andrew was appointed Sub-Principal Trumpet of the Orquestra do Algarve. In Portugal, Andrew has worked with the Algarve Camerata, and the Algarve Pops Orchestra. He has performed concertos with the Orquestra do Algarve, which have been broadcast both on RTP Radio and Television. He is Visiting Trumpet Professor at the Universidade do Algarve and the Algarve Conservatory.

In the UK Andrew's freelance work is varied. He has worked with a number of the countries leading orchestras, as well as chamber ensembles such as the London Arts Brass Ensemble, London City Brass Quintet and the Commonwealth Brass Ensemble. In the studio, Andrew records regularly for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Film 4 and Polygram Film.

Andrew combines his busy performance commitments with the management of the London Ottoni Ensemble, one of the UK's leading brass ensembles. The group has worked with, amongst others, the BBC Singers, MGM, and the Wigmore Hall education department, and has performed premieres at St Martin-in-the-Fields, the Wigmore Hall and St John's Smith's Square.
