The Graham Ashton Brass Ensemble

New energy, new style, and new repertoire, the Graham Ashton Brass Ensemble (GABE) offers the very best of brass playing from some of the world's finest musicians. Founded in New York, at the start of the new millennium by English trumpeter Graham Ashton, the ensemble has quickly made its mark by drawing together an eclectic, and classy mix of New York's most distinguished brass players who perform their music with style and elegance. Mr. Ashton is recognized the world over for his visionary performances and imaginative programming. The Gramophone Magazine in London wrote: "Graham Ashton shows himself to be an acutely thoughtful musician: virtuosity is never regarded as an end in itself, the sound is never brazen, and he conveys an unswerving clarity of vision which should be admired beyond the confines of the brass world". Continuing the legacy of the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble, GABE performs programs to suit all audiences with an exciting and stylish combination of old and new, of jazz and innovative arrangements, and of music on the lighter side.
